Position: Package Handler
Location: Vernon Hills
Duration: Contract
Hours: Mon-Fri  5 am-1:30 pm

Description:
The Package Handler is responsible for unloading inbound packages from floor-loaded trailers, followed by sorting and unboxing product for quality control purposes.

Responsibilities:
  • Offload packages from parcel trailers.
  • Sort, un-box, and label products.
  • Quality Control by accurately inspecting, counting, and receiving products using RF scanner or AS400 menu options.
  • Use a pallet jack to transport pallets of materials or products.
  • Adhere to preferred methods and safety guidelines.
  • Rotate through various departmental tasks, including housekeeping.

Required Qualification:
  • Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational, counting, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform 8 or more hours of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying products in any combination at any given time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (team-lift for anything above 50 lbs).
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, which includes changes in temperature as the weather fluctuates, and noise from conveyors and forklifts.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior warehouse experience.
