The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment and facility systems in a fast-paced 24x6 environment. This position ensures maximum equipment uptime by performing preventive maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated industrial maintenance professional with experience working on stamping presses, conveyors, automation equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and general manufacturing machinery while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain / repair various manual, automatic, or semi-automatic production machines such as robots, hard automation, mechanical or hydraulic presses
Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on machining equipment, including CNC machines, lathes, drills, mills, and grinders
Remove and replace equipment listed above
Identify vendors capable of completing various tasks
Recommend parts to order for machine and equipment repairs
Troubleshoot equipment problems and PLC's
Perform and document preventive maintenance
Stay current on preventive maintenance procedures for equipment longevity and reduced downtime
Diagnose electrical issues, including motor controls, PLC's, wiring, and power distribution
Install, modify, and upgrade electrical systems for efficiency and safety
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies
Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize interruptions
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts inventory
Qualifications & Skills
Technical schooling
Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
NFPA-70E Electrical safety training
Programming education
Electrical control panel building / wiring
Fanuc Robotics control / programming
Pneumatic education
Motor control systems building / troubleshooting
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Basic computer skills.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
