Description: This engagement will support a Data Warehousing and Data Governance/Security initiative, in helping build Data Architecture chapter foundational capabilities. This project is an important enterprise-wide initiative to build a cloud based data warehouse using a metadata driven approach to reduce bespoke ETL and one off development efforts.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with cross functional stakeholders ranging from product owners to enterprise architects and platform teams.
Create high-level design documents and detailed specifications, in accordance with company architecture standards.
Support primarily Analytics initiatives but also operational where appropriate.
Deliverables:
Develop / assist in creating, documenting, and gaining approvals for solution patterns
Participate in technology proofs of concept
Develop / assist in creating, documenting, and gaining approvals for architecture decision records
Help develop the foundational capabilities of the data arch chapter
Support some ‘Business as Usual (BAU)’ tasks
Create or assist in creating architectural deliverables that will capture Conceptual & Physical (L1/L2) architecture views as creating supporting documentation
Capture and document future use cases
Actively review and contribute to rolling 24-month architecture roadmap
Required Skills:
5+ years of relevant hands-on data architecture experience
2+ years of relevant hands-on exposure to building data and analytics solutions on AWS
2+ years of ETL architecture experience (Ab Initio or cloud-native tools)
Experience with Snowflake
Experience with variety of databases e.g. Teradata, Oracle, Maria DB,
Experience building architectural patterns at scale, including thoughtfully-designed data solutions, repeatable data pipelines, and efficient software engineering principles
Sound understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure engineering and building future ready technology solutions
Experience with building data warehouses, marts, business intelligence reports and operational systems
